In light of today’s climate of rising active shooter scenarios in educational and business environments, as well as the recent implementations of active shooter training throughout these institutions, we couldn’t help but notice the lack of adequate protection currently offered by existing furniture products on the market today.
Our Mission
To design and create seemingly ordinary furniture with the unique ability to protect groups of people and save lives in the event of an active shooting. When extra seconds can literally save lives, protecting students, service members, employees and the general public is our sole objective.
The Ultimate Safety Device
Our Desks Are Multipurpose
The Department of Homeland Security recommends the “RUN” “HIDE” “FIGHT” strategy when confronted by an active shooter. We’ve designed our table to play key roles in each of these strategies and in these ways:
Run
Our tables are mobile. Able to move when and where they are needed. We’ve incorporated custom handles for easy maneuverability when in the “shield” or ready position. The tables can then be maneuvered to always face a potential threat. They can be used as mobile shields while evacuating people from one area to another. They offer true physical protection from active shooter threats and minimize the possibility of a student, teacher or administrator being struck by stray fire from armed school personnel or law enforcement. They also offer various forms of protection and other purposes for responding security personnel or law enforcement if the event is still active upon their arrival.
Hide
Our tables very quickly and easily convert to full-size, protective barriers in under five seconds. Place three tables side by side across the back of each classroom, flip all three tables up and interlink them to create a nearly 4’ High x 15’ Long bullet resistant barrier in under one minute.
Fight
As a last resort, our tables can be used as a mobile battering ram. In this scenario, they offer full frontal or lateral protection while engaging a potential threat. They can quickly and easily be used to batter an offender.
“The entire experience left me energized with possibilities. Not only by adding an incredible layer of protection during an active threat, but that law enforcement are not the only people concerned with safety. These tables were designed and built by furniture installers for the purpose of saving lives. I had never considered ballistic tables before this experience, but someone else did. This experience let me know that others in the community share our concern for safety. Although we, as law enforcement officers, may feel like we constantly battle the general public over their own safety and security, it is inspiring to see so many others standing with us.“
